Sheffield City Hall

The City Hall’s famous Tea Dances have been bringing people together for over 85 years. Many of Sheffield’s married couples first met on the illuminated dance floor and the city’s brave wartime Women of Steel, now immortalised with a statue outside the building, could often be found quickstepping and waltzing around the art deco Ballroom.

The Tea Dances remain as popular as ever, drawing visitors from across South Yorkshire and beyond for a heart-warming and friendly afternoon of ballroom, Latin and sequence dance. Our tea dances are a welcoming environment.

Our organist Aubrey has been playing for the City Hall’s Tea Dances for over 20 years now, and still gets a thrill every time he walks in to the beautiful Art-Deco Ballroom. Join him on Thursdays for a 50-50 mix of Sequence and Ballroom/Latin.
